MK Celebrates Hari Raya: Little Hearts, Big Discoveries! 🌙✨
Our youngest learners recently had their own special Hari Raya adventure, perfectly tailored for curious little minds!
The excitement began days before the celebration as our teachers transformed our learning space into a dedicated culture corner, introducing our MK children to the beauty of Malay traditions and customs. On our celebration day, our children looked stunning in their traditional Malay costumes and festive outfits! They proudly joined our AMKP school community, watching captivating cultural performances with wide-eyed wonder, and some even took centre stage during the fashion parade.
Back in our MK space, the learning continued with hands-on fun! Our children crafted colourful keychains to take home as special mementos, while enjoying delicious traditional treats like pineapple tarts and dahlia cookies. The highlight was our festive photobooth, where giggles filled the air as children posed in their beautiful outfits, creating precious memories to treasure.
This celebration was more than just fun—it was about opening young hearts to different cultures and fostering community spirit. Watching our little ones embrace new traditions with such joy and curiosity made this Hari Raya truly unforgettable!
The MK children, together with AMKP students and teachers, came together to celebrate Chinese New Year and joyfully usher in the Year of the Horse.
The children looked wonderful in their traditional Chinese costumes and colourful outfits. They were thrilled to watch the exciting lion dance performance and enthusiastically took part in the lively sing-along session led by the primary school music teacher, Mr Yap.
In class, the children created beautiful horse-themed crafts and learned about Chinese traditions and customs, as well as the festive treats enjoyed during Chinese New Year. One of the highlights was our K2 Chinese students presenting their handwritten calligraphy artwork to the school leaders, which they had carefully practised in class.
It was truly a joyful day filled with cultural learning, celebration, and togetherness as our school community united to welcome the Year of the Horse.

Hari Raya Puasa Celebration
This year’s Hari Raya celebration embraced the theme “Riang Ria Raya”, meaning The Joyous Celebration of Hari Raya. The celebration offered a meaningful glimpse into Hari Raya traditions through interactive sharing, lively performances by our K1 and K2 Malay children, and hands-on craft activities. Children were invited to come dressed in their traditional Malay costumes or home clothes, adding colour and charm to the celebration. A highlight of the day was the delightful catwalk segment, where the children proudly showcased their festive outfits with smiles and confidence. It was truly a joyous occasion for all!
K2 Learning Journey to KidsStop@Science Centre
The Kindergarten 2 (K2) children had an enriching and fun learning journey to the KidsStop@Science Centre. They were engaged in hands-on activities during the ‘My Healthy Kitchen’ guided programme. They learnt about the importance of good nutrition, drinking sufficient water and the benefits of exercising to keep themselves healthy. We also had the opportunity to explore the various exhibits at KidsStop. These included choosing healthy food, fruits and vegetables at the supermarket pretend play area as well as learning more about what their bodies can do at the ‘My Wonderful Body’ exhibit. The children had a blast!
Chinese New Year Celebration
On 28 January 2025, MK children and staff joined the students and teachers of AMKP for the Chinese New Year celebration. We had so much fun and laughter as we gathered to celebrate and usher in the Year of the Snake. The children were dressed beautifully in their Chinese traditional costumes and/or home clothes! They were exuberant and excited to watch the lion dance performance and sing-along session. The children also had the opportunity to have hands-on experiences to perform as lion dancers as well as creating their own snake craft in class! The K2 Chinese children also got to experience Chinese calligraphy as they got to practise writing Chinese New Year auspicious greetings and presenting it to the school leaders! We had a whale of a time!
