Our Aim

Every child, experiencing the wonder of art and music, uncovers their creative spark and flourishes into a confident, expressive individual, enriching the world around them.

Our Approach

We embrace the 4E framework to deliver meaningful aesthetic experiences for every AMKPian: Expose, Enrich, Empower, Elevate.

Expose

Through our comprehensive six-year journey at AMKP, students embark on an enriching exploration of diverse artistic and musical expressions. Our curriculum spans a wide range of art forms, from traditional mediums to digital platforms, nurturing creativity and cultural appreciation. By integrating educational technology and new media into our programmes, we create engaging, relevant learning experiences that develop e-21st century competencies and prepare our students for the future.

Our Art & Music Curriculum

Enrich

We deepen students' artistic experiences through curated programmes and valued partnerships. Our students engage with professional artists, experience art in museum settings, and contribute to community spaces, connecting classroom learning with the wider arts community. Examples include:

  • Arts Assembly Programme

  • ChildISH@AMKP showcase (in partnership with Singapore Art Museum)

  • Yarn Bombing Project with Kelly Jin Mei (an Artist-In-School Scheme project supported by the National Arts Council)

  • P3 Art for Social Change Project with Tan Zi Xi (an Artist-In-School Scheme project supported by the National Arts Council)

  • P4 Museum-based Learning Programme to the National Gallery Singapore

  • P5 Creative Bin Project (in partnership with Ang Mo Kio Town Council)

Empower

We nurture student leadership and develop artistic excellence through specialised programmes that allow students to deepen their interests and share their passion with peers. Our Art & Music Champions programmes and Art Club CCA create opportunities for students to take ownership of their learning, inspire others, and contribute meaningfully to both school and community through the arts.

Elevate

We celebrate student creativity and artistic achievement through various platforms. Through these platforms, our students gain confidence in presenting their work, receive recognition for their artistic achievements, and inspire others with their creative expressions.

AMKP Kaleidoscope

Our signature arts showcase is a vibrant multimodal platform aimed at fostering talent showmanship, nurturing confidence, and exposing pupils to live presentations. The programme features both live and digital formats:

  • Live presentations during recesses & assemblies

  • Recorded showcase for online viewing

  • Student-led art exhibitions

  • Makers@Recess activities
