Our Aim
At AMKP, we aspire to nurture joyful digital learners and develop confident and caring citizens through empowering our students’ learning with EdTech and fostering cyber wellness practices.
Our Approach
To achieve these outcomes, we adopt a two-tier approach in alignment with the EdTech Masterplan 2030 to support the holistic development of every student and provides an enriching learning experience in AMKP.
Tier 1 includes level-wide digital literacy programmes
Tier 2 includes Talent Development through CCAs (Robotics Club and Maker Club)
AMKP Maker Education (school-wide approach)
Our Key Programmes include
1. Digital Literacy Programme
(P1-P2) Develop students foundational digital literacy skills including touch-typing portals and familiarise with the SLS and ICON login portal and features and basic MS PowerPoint for class presentations.
(P3-P4) Strengthen students digital literacy in using Canva for digital art programme and the usage of SLS packages and padlet through the integration with Interdisciplinary Project Work (IPW).
(P5-P6) Empower students with coding through the IMDA Code-for-Fun (CFF) programme for the P5 level and also the extension of CFF with AI coding modules for the P6s during post-PSLE activity to foster problem-solving skills.
2. Maker Education
AMKP Maker Education aims to develop our students’ 21st century competencies such as inventive thinking and problem-solving skills through constructivist learning activities as an individual or collaboratively as a team. Termly Maker Education activities are planned to cater to all the students to learn and apply STEM-related skills and knowledge to co-create a range of artefacts to digital making. These experiences engage our students’ minds, hands and hearts to nurture joyful learners and their creativity.
3. Talent Development through CCAs (Robotics Club and Maker Club)
The Robotics Club aims to nurture the innovative and creative minds of our students. The students acquire important 21st Century Competencies such as problem-solving and communication skills as they collaborate as a team to co-create, learn coding and find ways of programming robots to solve real-world and authentic tasks. Selected students are expose to national-level competitions to hone their skills.
The Makers Club aims to ignite our students’ interest in ICT in an engaging and meaningful way through the use of digital media and technologies leveraging on AI. During CCA sessions, our students demonstrate the application of their ICT skills in co-creating prototypes and new products in a collaborative learning environment.
4. Cyber Wellness Programme
Our AMKP Cyber Wellness programme is designed to empower students to be safe, responsible, and respectful online users. We educate students and emphasize the importance of practicing cybersafety habits and preventing cyberbullying. Through engaging assembly programs, recess activities, and interactive classroom lessons, students learn to protect themselves online and promote kindness to themselves and others.
Our programme encourages responsible digital behavior and ensures students acquire the skills necessary to navigate online safely and ethically and be kind to others.
